Prof. Monika I. Konaklieva, Department of Chemistry, American University, WDC, received her PhD in Chemistry from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Her research focuses on the design, synthesis, and evaluation of biologically active agents. Current projects explore approaches to delay microbial resistance, including fragment-based structure-activity studies to improve the therapeutic efficacy of lead compounds. She collaborates with several research groups at the NIH and Midwestern University.
