Professor Dr. Mohammad Kamil, M.Sc.; M.Phil.; Ph.D.; D.Sc.; Chartered Chemist(U.K.) and Fellow Royal Society of Chemistry (London), worked in various capacities, as In-charge –of the Drug Standardization lab. (RRIUM-Aligarh) CCRUM, Ministry of Health -India, Associate Professor at Hamdard University, India; Professor & Head Department of Pharmacognostic Science, Zayed Complex for Herbal Research & Traditional. Medicine(ZCHRTM), Ministry of Health, UAE (1996- 2010); Head TCAM Research at ZCHRTM, Department of Health(DOH)Abu Dhabi (2010-2020). Focal Point of WHO Collaborative Sheikh Zayed Research Centre, Abu Dhabi for 8 consecutive years; a recipient of the First Sheikh Zayed International TCAM Award in Herbal Research (2020) presently working as Director General, Lotus Holistic Healthcare Institute, Abu Dhabi, UAE since 2021; Secretary General & Head, Scientific Committee for Sheikh Zayed International TCAM Awards International Awards. He is a recipient of many prestigious honours & awards viz Young Scientist’s Award, India(1998); Common Wealth Award-London(1992); Convention Award of Chemical Society-India(1993); Hakim Ajmal Khan Shield (CCRUM-Govt. of India at Grant Medical College, Bombay 1992); Academic Grant from Association of Common Wealth Universities –London(1992); Academic Exchange Fellowship from Association of Common Wealth Universities –London(1993); Acted as an expert on the panel of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), India,2000. ; Man of the year 2002, ABI, USA; Hakim Ajmal Khan Global Award in Unani Medicine, India(2014); Honorary Trustee, International Unani Forum (Oct’2022 -March 2025). More than 700 research papers in reputed journals & and presentations at international conferences are at his credit. Associated with the World Health Organization (WHO) in the revision of the Benchmark for International Standards of Unani Medicine Terminology and Training of Unani Medicine, as its drafting expert and their subsequent reviews. Recently he has been assigned to support WHO in translating a document from Arabic to English under an Agreement for the Performance of Work (APW). He had been invited as an advisor for the WHO -10 years Traditional Medicine strategy (1925-34) at a meeting held in October 2024 in Riyad Saudi Arabia. Honorary Trustee of International Unani Forum, India October 2022 to March 2025. Honorary member of the International Association for Unani Medicine (IAUM)by the Faculty of Eastern Medicine, Karachi, since 1922. Conferred upon Aqs-e-Mohar –Nabwi, Hamdard University Karachi,19th Dec 2022. Dr. Kamil produced 34 Ph.D. and M.Phil. students besides a large number of M.Sc. Project theses and 50 Interns. chaired a large no. of scientific sessions, delivered talks as plenary, & invited speakers at various International Conferences.
